4th of July Weekend Kayak Routes
Our beloved Greenway route doesn’t happen often— be sure to book it while it’s here for the July 4th holiday weekend!
In case you didn’t know, the “Let Freedom Sing” July 4th fireworks celebration takes place in the footprint of our standard downtown operations. So, for the 4th of July and the morning of the 5th of July, we are unable to operate any of our downtown routes. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get you on the water! In fact, it means we get to bring back our fan-favorite nature paddle for the holiday weekend.
About The Greenway Route
Both The Greenway(5mi / ~2hrs) is a self-guided, one-way, downriver paddle that begins in East Nashville, across the river from Opryland. On this route, you’ll enjoy a serene paddle alongside limestone bluffs, horse farms, and the Shelby Bottoms Greenway. See sights like Demonbreun’s Cave and the historic Omohundro Water Treatment Plant before arriving at the Shelby Park Boat Ramp, where The Greenway paddle ends and the downtown skyline begins to appear in the distance.
How It Works
For this experience, you will meet our crew at the Shelby Park Boat Ramp to catch a shuttle to the put-in spot. (Note: your route time is the shuttle departure time— we recommend arriving 15mins before your scheduled time to ensure you don’t miss the shuttle!) From here, we will shuttle you upriver to the put-in spot, about a 15min ride. At the put-in spot, we will get you outfitted with your kayak and equipment, give you a “kayaking 101” overview, and put you out on the water. The Greenway route ends where you originally met our shuttle: the Shelby Park Boat Ramp. Our crew will meet you there to collect your equipment and help you off the water.

Other Available Experiences
Our Overnight/Day Kayak Rentals will be available throughout the holiday on a first-come, first-served basis. Our Skyline, will be available through July 3rd, and resume operating after 2pm on July 5th. Our Pedal Pontoon Cruises will be running throughout the holiday, with cruises on certain dates operating from our Private Marina near downtown.
